It is believed that there are currently over 2 million cancer patients in the country and according to WHO, Nigeria has the worst cancer death rate in Africa at 80% mortality from the disease. This is alarming and  unacceptable.

Whilst the high death rate is mainly linked to late presentation, the late presentation is often linked to lack of finances to treat the disease even when it is discovered early.

We also know that in the western world, even stage 4 patients with proper care can actually be managed to live long and have good quality lives in spite of their illness being terminal.
